And here I am again! Third time in BB XD

Some of the 300 people thronging the Brunei International Airport on Thursday night to send off family and friends - mainly to the United Kingdom - turned inventive when it came to breaking their fast.

The combination of the holy month of Ramadhan and most UK universities opening in mid- September caused many to arrive as early as 4pm to check-in in order to get good flight seats.

Since the two main restaurants of the airport, Express Restaurant and the Royal Brunei Catering Restaurant, were fully booked, many waiting for the 7.30pm flight had to break their fast all around the airport.

One family stood out from the rest. While others stood around eating, this family brought along a mat, and had sungkai picnic-style in a corner of the airport. Even bringing their own food; it was as if they've been through it all before. The family was sending off Abu Hurairah bin Haji Abu Hanafiah, a student studying at the University of East Anglia, Norwich. The airport is usually busy around this time, especially since the number of students studying in the United Kingdom has increased annually. This year alone, 387 students have been awarded government scholarships for the 2007/2008 session.

It is expected to be busier once people start leaving for umrah.
