A Wired writer tries to disappear: a challenge
The condition: they have to find him in ONE month.
Read all about it here, http://www.wired.com/vanish/2009/11/ff_vanish2/ about how he tries to disappear and avoid the hunters; the various hunters way of trying to locate him; and to answer the final question: who won? Evan Ratliff or the hunter?
A very good read =D

Potato Fruit... wait what?
yes, you heard me right.
potato... FRUIT!
Quote from his website:
"These are genuine fruit, but not that common. Usually, potato flowers just drop off. When fruit do form, they’re more likely found on certain varieties, like Yukon Gold."
from wikipedia:
"After potato plants flower, some varieties will produce small green fruits that resemble green cherrt tomatoes, each containing up to 300 true seeds. Potato fruit contains large amounts of the toxic alkaloid solanine, and is therefore unsuitable for consumption. "
so there is a potato fruit BUT unfortunately its toxic. you have been educated and be warned =D

2 news that caught my interest
This is going to be really interesting, as now disney has, as i quote "will take over ownership of 5,000 Marvel characters, such as Spider-Man and the X-Men."
So lot of things going through my mind, but one thing has pop-ed(?) into my head...
are they going to make Disney Vs Marvel (like the 1996's Marvel vs Dc) saga?
I would really like to see how Mickey and gang fared against X-MEN
XD
____
the other news:
" A farmer cracked open a free range boiled egg for his breakfast, only to find another perfectl formed egg inside it"
*gasp* myself has experience getting two yolks in one egg, but to find a smaller (see pic in the link sauce) egg inside an egg, is indeed a rarity =D
I wonder if he is going to eat it, or keep it? XD
The sauces:
"The Disney bought Marvel sale" sauce > http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/8230504.stm

plants vs zombies
from the company popcaps presents:
(cut and paste from their website)
Get ready to soil your plants in an all-new action-strategy game from PopCap! A mob of fun-loving zombies is about to invade your home, and your only defense is an arsenal of 49 zombie-zapping plants. Use peashooters, wall-nuts, cherry bombs and more to mulchify 26 types of zombies before they can reach your front door.
Each zombie has its own special skills, so you’ll need to think fast and plant faster to combat them all. But be careful how you use your limited supply of greens and seeds… as you battle the fun-dead, obstacles like a setting sun, creeping fog and a swimming pool add to the challenge. And with five game modes to dig into, the fun never dies!
- Play five game modes: Adventure, Mini-Games, Puzzle, Survival, plus the stress-free Zen Garden
- Conquer all 50 levels of Adventure mode -- through day, night and fog, in a swimming pool and on the rooftop
- Battle 26 types of zombies including pole-vaulters, snorkelers and “Zomboni” drivers
- Earn 49 powerful perennials and collect coins to buy a pet snail, power-ups and more!

Give thanks to allah: sung by Zaid Bhikha and NOT Michael Jackson
As usual, internet search, filtering out the ones the silly, untrue and such (which is hard) and finally my research eventually paid off.
The song "give thanks to Allah" was actually written and sung by Zain Bhikha, from Johannesburg, Gauteng South Africa, and he has been singing since he won the singing competition in 1994.
From wikipedia:
Zain Bhikha, born August 9, 1974 is a South African Muslim singer-songwriter, who has achieved fame as a performer of nasheed songs. Tied to other prominent Muslims entertainers, including Yusuf Islam and Dawud Wharnsby Ali, Bhikha has collaborated on albums with other artists, and has released several solo albums as well. He has written several religious albums concerning Islam.
Gonna post links regarding about him at the end of the post:
Anyways, regarding the late MJ singing this, the rumour has also reached into the ears of the said Zain Bhikha, and in response to this, he posted the following:
[quote from website]
The reason I bring all this up is merely because since before his death and quite amplified now after, I have been inundated with e-mails and calls from people, organisations and the media asking me to clarify whether a song called “Give Thanks to Allah” was sung by Micheal Jackson or myself. This rumour started a while ago and has been circulating on the internet ever since.
So, to clarify, Micheal Jackson never sang this song. I wrote and recorded “Give Thanks to Allah” as a simple childrens song many years ago and it has been released on various independant albums since.[end quote]
So as you can see and explain by Zain Bhikha, the late MJ NEVER sung that song. I also read in various sites/forum saying Zain and MJ has nearly similar voice thus explaining the confusion.
Before ending, I would like to point out whoever has that song must keep in mind to whom the credit is due. Zaid Bhikha is the songwriter and singer of "Give Thanks to Allah" and what I have been reading is that his songs are educational and inspiring, and has an islamic theme to it.
As promise, here are the links regarding Zain Bhikha:
Myspace website: http://www.myspace.com/zainbhikha
His OFFICIAL website: http://www.zainbhikha.com/00_index.html
His Blog replied regarding the MJ and his song : http://www.zainbhikha.com/03_blog.html
And finally good old wikipedia : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zain_Bhikha
oh yeah, if you like his song, support the artist ;)

$86.60 for 1 pizza
Went shopping yesterday at SupaSave, as shown by the receipt above.
Apparently we just purchased a pizza which cost us $86.80!
(click the picture to see the price of the pizza)
Went to the counter to point out the problem, and the helpful saleslady checked, verified (real cost: $6.20), refunded our money and offers apologies.
What impresses me is that she alone done it A.S.A.P as opposed to the other superstore a.k.a Giant, which took me a good 15 mins to rectify their pricing error.
morale:
1) When putting the goods into your basket/trolley, remember to do a rough calculation on how much you're paying
2) double-check AFTER you got the receipt.
Or not, you may purchased the same expensive pizza as mine XD
Mum! How much did you bought us?

god does exist! - a story
This is one of the best explanations of why God allows pain and suffering that I have seen: A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed.
As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation. They talked about so many things and various subjects.
When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said:
"I don't believe that God exists."
"Why do you say that?" asked the customer. "Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist.
Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people?
Would there be abandoned children?
If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain.
I can't imagine a loving God who would allow all of these
things."
The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument.
The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop.
Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard. He looked dirty and unkempt.
The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber: "You know what? Barbers do not exist."
"How can you say that?" asked the surprised barber.
"I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!"
"No!" the customer exclaimed. "Barbers don't exist because if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside."
"Ah, but barbers DO exist! That's what happens when people do not come to me."
"Exactly!" affirmed the customer. "That's the point! God, too, DOES exist! That's what happens when people do not go to Him and don't look to Him for help. That's! why there's so much pain and suffering in the world."
